Engineer Who?

Engineer on foot. Engineer here and there. Engineer everywhere. Engineer Who? Engineer in Town!

Well hello there!

I’m the Engineer in Town — a Mechanical Engineer + Welding Engineer by education, and a Quality Assurance/Quality Control specialist by experience, working in the EPC sector.

How It Started

Since day one, I’ve wanted to be an engineer. It runs in the family.
Growing up, I watched my father work in construction, and I knew that was the life I wanted too — not just engineering, but being out there, where things get built.

I earned my degree from Yıldız Technical University in Istanbul. But I didn’t wait for graduation to get started — I began interning during my second year. Before finishing my thesis, I moved to Manisa to work with our family business on-site, which delayed my graduation by a year and a half.

Zero regrets. That hands-on start shaped everything.

How It’s Going

I’ve built my career working in extreme environments, complex projects, and international teams — from scorching deserts to freezing tundras. If there’s a job to get done, a weld to inspect, or a system to optimize, I’m there.

I recently transitioned to a new role and relocated to St. Petersburg, Russia, one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever seen. A new chapter, new challenges — same spirit.

 A Bit More Human Stuff

  • Terrible at music (but love it)

  • Big-time sci-fi nerd

  • Dog person through and through

  • Prefer calling over texting

  • A little obsessive, in all the fun ways

If you’ve found this blog, I hope something here inspires you, helps you, or at least makes you feel a little less alone out there in the field.

I’m the Engineer in Town — and I’m here to share what this life really looks like.

“We’re all stories in the end… just make it a good one.”
(Yes, Whovian. Obviously.)
