Starting with Intention: The Journey Begins
Sooo….. “Merhaba arkadaşlar kanalima hoşgeldiniz!”
(Insert a big fake smile here)
It wouldn’t have felt right to start this without doing that at least once.
I’ve been contemplating this blog for over five years.
Not because I lacked stories to share, but because I was searching for the perfect way to begin—a flawless introduction that encapsulates everything I want this space to be.
Perfectionism can be paralyzing.
The desire to have everything figured out before taking the first step has kept this project in the realm of ideas for far too long.
But here’s the truth: life isn’t perfect, and neither is engineering.
Both are filled with unexpected challenges, learning curves, and moments of growth.
I’ve been trying to learn to bend my rectangular personality—where everything has to fit in perfectly and should make sense.
(And yes, this includes failures. They, too, must be part of the plan.)
So since I’m trying to learn a new skill, why not act on it?
I’m choosing to start now—not because everything is perfectly aligned, but because sharing the journey, with all its imperfections, is more valuable than waiting for an ideal that may never come.

Here’s what I do know it will be:
It will be real.
It’ll be stories from the field—sometimes muddy, sometimes high-pressure, sometimes hilarious.
Sometimes I’ll write from an airport.
Sometimes from a cold prefab.
Sometimes from my “perfect plaza office.”
And sometimes from my couch, with a small but very bossy dog on my lap.
I’m starting this because my therapist says I don’t have to have it all figured out.
(Hello Sveta—see? You’re making a difference.)
I’m starting because I’ve seen enough, moved enough, built enough—and lived through enough to know that these stories deserve to be shared.
And maybe someone else needs to see them too.

Welcome to the not-so-glamorous, surprisingly poetic life of a travelling engineer.
Welcome to Engineer in Town.
Let’s build this together.
